The “Sexy Quiz”

Quebec Update by Marie-Noëlle Caron for Carrie Martin

This season, the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) is pleased to announce the launch of the “Sexy Quiz” – it’s a new campaign aiming to raise awareness on sexual health.

Accompanied by host, Mickey Moose, the First Nations adolescents will put their knowledge to the test by viewing the five quiz segment on the campaign’s website. Humour will play an integral part in these pieces in an effort to make the learning process not only informative, but playful for the audience.

Different topics will be on the agenda such as means of protection, contraception, HIV transmission, at-risk behaviours and screening. To encourage participation among the youth, many prizes will be awarded over the course of the campaign that will unfold throughout the 2013-2014 school year. Through this campaign, we wish to place sexual health in the spotlight over the entire year.

We have opted to make use of the Internet and social media for our campaign in order to reach young people wherever they may be. We are banking on new technologies to ensure the rapid and effective transmission of our messages.

We look forward to seeing if this new approach will stir up interest in the youth population and encourage everyone to check out the work on our website.
