Beaver Moon Domestic Violence Awareness Ceremony
Join CAAN and the Voices of Women for Ceremony on the day of the Beaver Moon
Friday, November 19th at 8:00 pm EST
November is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, highlighting a critical issue for our Indigenous, Inuit and Métis relatives who experience violence at significantly higher rates than other Canadians.
In addition to new resources being rolled out to support our people, we invite you to participate in Ceremony with us as we empower and support one another on our healing journeys.
CAAN will be holding a Domestic Violence Awareness Ceremony on November 19,2021,at 8:00pm EST. We welcome and invite you and your community to attend this ceremony. Here are some (optional) things to consider when you attend the ceremony:
For those who are womenattending the ceremony, please have water near or with you when attending. (Thiscan be a glass of water, a water bottle, acopper cupof water) whatever you have access to.
For those menwho are attending please bring a candle to represent the sacred fire and fire keeping.
For 2S folksyou may have both the fire and the water with you! Wewant to honour that 2S people are part of the circle. (Do what feels called to in your spirit).
For everyone:please bring a drum and shaker if you have one!
