Research involving Indigenous People requires true community engagement, which takes time, a commitment, and an understanding of the history of Indigenous peoples’ experience with research.
In light of this, this presentation will highlight important aspects of “doing research in a good way” with Indigenous People and will focus on the ethical guidelines found in Chapter 9: “Ethics regarding working with Indigenous people” in the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS2).
